Mishmash

The weather has turned cold!  I took Clara out of the coat closet.

She was happy. I've missed her.

This guy turned 60 a few months ago.

He plays basketball with the young guys (20 to 30 year olds) 3 mornings a week at the church.  Last week he came home wounded.  Someone, who obviously was intimidated by the Hubs prowess in basketball, did a drive with his shoulder to the mouth, knocking 2 teeth loose and gouging a large, gaping hole inside his lip.  The teeth are dead, so, on Friday he gets 2 root canals!  It probably doesn't matter how old a basketball player is, injuries happen.

Trying to work the Weight Watchers plan.

Notice I said, "trying"!  Not always as good as I should be (remember my donut post?) but I have lost 14 pounds.  I hope those pounds don't find me again!

We have two local radio stations that have been playing nothing but Christmas music since November 5th. How do I know?  Because I listen to it!

In my mind, November's not too early for Christmas music!  Would/Do you listen to Christmas music in November?

  2. For as long as I've been on WW, I should be as skinny as an Olsen Twin right now.

  3. Oh yes! I have been listening and singing along for about 3 weeks now!
Too bad about hubbies teeth and Clara looks ready to go. You look too tall and skinny to be on WW...I am amazed! ;D

  4. I am so glad that you pulled Clara out of the closet.
I can hardly wait to get home and listen to the Christmas tunes. It was funny the other day in the department store in Bangkok with 90' weather, the music to Frosty the Snowman was playing. I hummed that song all day long.

Weight Watchers is a drag...hubby tried to convince me to go get our favorite lemon pepper chicken wings today...and I sadly refused. (and then I cried a little)

  13. Oh gosh-having teeth knocked out is, for some reason, a fear of mine. Hope the root canals aren't too painful!!

  14. 2 root canals? Oy.
    So sorry for the husband.

You don't need to lose weight silly lady! You look great!

I don't have a problem with Christmas music as long as it's different stuff. When the Dj's play the same stuff over and over.. then I can't stand it.
There is a gazillion christmas songs.. and I wish they would play more of a selection..

  15. LOL - you said church and basketball in the same paragraph! Totally not suprised at the injury. I swear, there is something about the cultural hall that sparks something in good people!! : )

I am NOT ready for Christmas music. Totally boycotting those stations until Thanksgiving evening!

Sorry about the injuries... not fun! Hopefully he will be on the mend soon and back on the court.
I love your coat! Gorgeous plaid!!
This fresh fallen snow has been so gorgeous and certainly gets us in the mood for Christmas carols.
You must have thought that I fell off a cliff or something.... but no. We just have an exciting life around here too, and sometimes I meet myself coming and going :)
I promise, I'll try to do better and catch up on your great blog!!

  18. I do listen to Christmas music as early as I can. The season isn't that long so I like to jump into it.
Congrats on your WW success. That's the only way to do it, I think. They have a great program.
Sorry about your boy's teeth. They never outgrow it, though, do they?
i've been enjoying bringing out my favorite jackets and cozy wear. I miss them when it's not cold.

  19. Sorry about A's injuries. I didn't even know or notice anything was wrong. Hope the root canals go well.

I absolutely loved meeting you. You are even more awesome in real life and you are beautiful. You certainly don't need W.W., but congrats on the weight loss. That is just great.

I love Christmas music. Dh even listens to it sometimes in other months of the year.

I do want to get together again and soon too. You and your hubby both were so much fun to visit with. Thanks again.

  20. yep, love clara. she's beautiful!

also, oodles of sick time here = oodles of Christmas DVDs here! (that is now that the LOTR marathon is over, lol.) so i'm thinking it's MORE than ok for 2 Christmas radio stations already. i love it! am sad & disappointed that we don't have even 1 rolling here yet this year. normally there's atleast one by now. when in idaho we usually had 2 that started nov. 1st (following their 24 hrs of halloweenish rotation, lol).

poor hubs' teeth. if it makes him feel any better, i wish i was the one assisting on them. i actually LOVED assisting my old endodontist! just because it was interesting to me, and i loved being able to help make our patients feel as ease, and being super careful with them. so, wish him my best!

  21. I'm cold too! Amazing that it has finally hit the deserts of AZ. I was chattering on my morning walk the other day. It was a blustery 45 degrees!! P.S. We start listening to Christmas music the day after Thanksgiving...without fail..so I guess that counts as November, right?

  22. Well, that royally stinks about the teeth. But I know how church basketball can get.

I think it is awesome that he is still playing and keeping up with the boys.

    Congrats on the weight loss.

  23. Good for you on being 14 down!

Christmas music in November? When the first snow hits and sticks I think it becomes fair game...
