Miss Em called her mother from school on Monday to let her know she wasn't feeling well. Her Mom, Candice, buckled one-year-old Aly and three-year-old Kels in car seats and drove to the school to retrieve sick Em. As they pulled in to the driveway and hit the garage door opener, Em asked if she could just get out and run in to the house to lie down because she didn't feel well. Candice consented and watched while Em ran in the garage and threw-up on the floor. Candice opened her door and told Em to, "Get in the house!" (There's a bathroom right off the garage) Em launched again in the same spot and Candice ran to help her get in to the bathroom. After a few more times of emptying the contents of her stomach, Em felt better and Mom helped her lie down on the couch then hurried out to the garage to rescue Aly and Kels from car seats. What she saw next was shocking and unexpected. Kels had gotten out of the car. She was jumping in the puddle of vomit as though it were a spring puddle. With her back to Candice, she used her arms to propel herself up and lifted her knees high before splashing down in the thick muck.
Candice yelled, "What are you doing!" Kels turned slowly around. With chunks between her toes and with her legs covered in the splatter, she viewed the fruits of her labor on the walls, freezer, the family's shoes, and anything else in the garage within reach of the splash. She saw the shocked look on her Mother's face. She gave her Mom a bewildered look and said, "I. Don't. Know!"
I won't be posting a recipe with this post.

ReplyDeleteHope little Em is feeling better.
Have a great day.
That is just a hilarious story. Makes you wonder what she was thinking about while she was jumping. I am sure she will love to hear this story retold when she grows older.
ReplyDeleteI think this is a "sick" story, but one day I'm sure it will be a hilarious story.
ReplyDeleteI feel sorry for Candice!! :-( Motherhood??!! Enough said!
Kids? What are the little things thinking?? Hard to figure out sometimes. To funny, poor Candice.
ReplyDeleteThanks for holding off on the recipe, I am gagging and dry heving just thinking about it all. I'm such a sympathetic puker. Even via the internet

Reminds me, my dad used to warn me that kids will do stupid things and try and get off the hook with the " I don't know why".... so true.
Sometimes, they REALLY don't know why.
I tried to remember that....
somedays it was harder than others :)
Have a great week!!

ReplyDeletethanks, btw, for the support through the past couple weeks. dealing with the grandma stuff has been overwhelming to say the least. you rock! ::hugs::
Thank goodness honey you did not have a recipe for this because just picturing it was enough. lol
ReplyDeleteOnly thing good about the jumping was it was outside. hahaha
Darn what a story sounds like my kind of month or year.
Hope Em is feeling better and things are better by now.
Love
Maggie
Oh no! I like my muddly puddle much better than your kind of puddle. ICK!
ReplyDeleteThat. Is. Disgusting. The joys of motherhood...
ReplyDeleteewwww...I got the dry heaves just reading this. With all my "mothering" of 5 kids, throw up was my most difficult thing to deal with.
ReplyDeletewhat a funny gal.
I hope that mom wrote down the episode to share it with her when she grows up.
nothing like "chunks" in your toes.
Oh boy. Vomit splashing is sure to catch on now. Don't tell my boys.
ReplyDeleteThis was hilarious.
Oh my ~ I feel for your daughter! It's bad enough to have one sick but the other jumping in it...goodness.
ReplyDeleteI didn't find an email for you but wanted to respond to your question re: the cake balls. The picture on my blog is not the ones I made ~ it's what they "could...might" look like. :-) I wouldn't recommend making them for an event but that's just my experience.
Have a wonderful day!
Pat

Your so sweet!
That had to go down as a really, really bad day.
ReplyDeleteOh Yuck!
ReplyDeleteI can't even image what it took to clean up both her daughter and the garage.
I thrw up a little in my mouth! that picture you found is a perfect visual!
ReplyDeleteYuck. I hate cleaning up vomit. When our kids got sick lucky John always got to do it if he was home while I cleaned up the kid. Yuck again.

Oh this is too funny...not to mom I am sure, but still funny!!
ReplyDeleteOh my all the clean up she had to do!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry!
Oh my gosh, someone get me a bucket. I think I'm going to hurl just reading this.
ReplyDeleteI have seen some of the most horrific and disgusting stuff imaginable while working in the ER and the thing that makes me sick every time is seeing, smelling or hearing someone throw up. I immediately start to gag. Can you guess who has cleaned up after our 5 children when they've had tummy viruses? My husband is a saint.
