Cooking Tip

I went to the Taste of Home Cooking School last night.  Lots of fun, prizes, good food and great recipes.
Here's a tip I learned last night.

After cutting an apple, pour 7-Up over the top to keep it from turning brown.  You can chop the apples in the morning then use in a salad or other recipe in the evening and they will still be fresh!  Other lemon-lime drinks don't work - just 7-Up.

My giveaway ends tonight at midnight and the winners will be announced on April Fools Day!

  6. Connie, that's an excellent tip. I guess there is enough citrus in the 7up to do the trick! Thanks!

  13. I love this tip!! When I am being good and healthy I try to take an apple in my lunch everyday. It's cut up so I can eat it while driving from house to house. It's always brown - but still good. I think I'd like to try this - it might make it a little bit more appetizing. Thanks for sharing your knowledge!!

  17. I hate how a lemon changes the flavor of the apple. I wonder if the 7-up does too? I would guess NO!! Excellent cooking tip! Thanks for sharing!
