Look Up In the Sky...

Chiropractors must love the 4th of July!  People craning their necks to look up and watch fireworks and hot air balloons, make for good patients.  We got our stiff necks at Thanksgiving Point.

While waiting for the sun to set, Em and Ad tried to warm up (it was cold on the 4th of July!) Most of the time, when I get out my camera, people will say, "Don't you dare put that on your blog!"

Em wants her picture here and she even gave me a caption.  "Good cousins doing fun things together!"

Jordan and Chelsey had pre-wedding bridal photos taken before they came. Here they're checking out the pics.  Camille is becoming quite the photographer!  I think everyone agrees!

OK everybody, it's dark enough for the fireworks!
Do I hear an
Ooooh?

Ahhhhhhh!

Wow!
(I need a lesson on how to take pics of fireworks)

Monday was the hot air balloon festival in Provo.

Not as big as the one in Albuquerque but it was still a sight to behold. (I've never been to the one in Albuquerque but mentioned it in case any of you have and you think this is small potatoes.  Speaking of potatoes, I've been to the hot air balloon festival in Boise)  If you're still awake...on with the pictures...

Not sure if C8's mesmerized by the balloons or is just tired.

Ad's excited about the activity.

It was fun to see the different shapes and sizes of the balloons.

If you look closely you'll see a child in that balloon basket! (crazy!)

That's it!  I hope your neck muscles aren't strained!

  1. Your fire works photos are wonderful. I really love this time of year, just because of the fire works.

  3. Ron and I stayed at a motel in Provo..we were out by the pool and in came this big family. They played so good together and laughed so much, we got talking to them, they were balloonists and they were going to do that show in the early am. The one man said their balloon was bright pink and he had a little boy about 4 with him...I swear that looks like them here! The motel was full of these people that night.
Love your pictures...looks like a bunch of fun! :D

  4. These are great pics! They brought me closer to fireworks than I've been in a while. Haven't been to the ABQ balloon festival, but probably will someday. I also love the caption and pic of the cousins! :)

  6. I'd love to attend a hot air balloon festival! I should look up the one in Boise and visit relatives there. Have you ever heard of Firebird Raceway, just outside of Boise? My aunt, uncle and cousins own it. However, I've never been to a race before. Been there, just not racing season.

  7. Wait, we were BOTH at the balloon festival? Curses, we could have met in real life in an absolutely public and safe place (not that I think you're psycho or anything).

Maybe at next year's festival then...

  10. I had no idea that Provo had a hot air balloon festival!!! COOL! I think when someone says "Don't you dare put that on your blog" what they really mean is...."PUT THIS ON YOUR BLOG THE MINUTE YOU GET HOME!!" Lots of fun!! Cute kids!!! Couldn't get better than that.

  22. Whoa, you got some good photos there.
I didn't get to see ANY fireworks this year. I think next year I will talk hubby into making a trip to Utah and enjoy the 4th with my kids!!

It is also one of my goals in life to go up in a hot air balloon.

  23. Connie, I have missed you this summer and I have to tell you GOOD FOR YOU that you are able to relax and enjoy your summer! Don't feel guilty for one moment that you are taking it easy and enjoying lots of family and computer time. YOU DESERVE IT!! I wish I was able to work for school district and have summers off. You are lucky!

It's been a little hectic for me as I work 7-12 and I have had really bad pain and problems in my right arm and so 3 days each week I work come home and feed my kids lunch and then head to Physical Therapy for 2 hours. It's been that way for the past 6 weeks.

SO, that means not much computer time for me...one because there is not much time and two because I'm trying to get my arm to heal.

WOW! Your photos are gorgeous of the Fireworks, balloons and your family!! You captured the moment just perfectly! Hot Air Balloon festivals are SO neat and fun to enjoy. I have such fond memories of our 2nd year married enjoying the Balloon Festival with my sweetie. Good times and great memories!

You're the BEST mom and grandma and I just love your sense of humor and zest for life. Your chiropractor comment just made me laugh as I was thinking about having "stiff necks" as we were watching the fireworks this year.

Thanks for always putting a SMILE on my face! Have a happy and FUN-filled week!!

    Have a blessed week ~

Wow! What a great 4th you had! Love all the pictures!
We saw fireworks shot off from a big ol' barge in Quartermaster Harbor in Vashon Washington. It was pretty awesome too :)
I think I need a ear specialist too !! All the BOOM- BOOM in the harbor ....loud stuff :)
    Have a great day !!
