Snow Day and Christmas Photo Giveaway!

Today was supposed to be the last day of school, but because of the snow, there is no school!
We got 9 inches of new snow during the night.  Out on the patio, we have over 14 inches and it's still snowing! I'll spend the day cleaning, wrapping gifts, baking, shoveling snow, and watching the beautiful snow come down. (It's beautiful until I have to drive in it)

This is our mail box with 9 inches of snow.  Can you tell there's a sword going through the mailbox?  If you could see the bottom of it, you'd see the sword is in a large stone.

The sidewalk, just minutes after shoveling.  Phyllis Diller said, "Cleaning your house while your kids are still growing up is like shoveling the walk before it stops snowing."  True on both points!

These pictures aren't Christmas Card quality,

but I'm going to send you to a place where you can get a beautiful 5x7 print for free!
Teachinfourth (Mr. Z) is not only a 5th grade teacher, but is also a gifted photographer!  He has taken photos of nature, buildings, and people and is giving to anyone who asks, a 5x7 print of your favorite photo.  This is his way of sending out Christmas cards.  I need to warn you, it's hard to choose just one!
To get the details and to choose a photo, go here.

Hope you're having a great snow day!

I'm so jealous of snow days! I remember getting ONE in my entire life growing up in Utah Valley. It's pretty bad down here today and everyone is late everywhere...but it's not bad enough to cancel life I guess.

Utah County got a lot more snow than we did up north!

SOOOO jealous! I would LOVE to have it snow that much at my house! The kid would have a ball. Although, right now I am at work, which means they are at the babysitters...which is on 114th South. Which means, they probably have snow down there! So it's just me that is left out! Bummer!

I got a text from Heidi and she said she was trying to dig her car out--WOW. That is a whole lot of snow.
Enjoy your day.

Awww shoot, Connie! I thought you were adding professional photographer to your long list of amazing talents! :) Although I do think your snow pictures are quite fabulous.
We've got snow up here too, although not as much as you.
Happy cleaning, baking, wrapping, shoveling!

We still had school today despite the treacherous conditions…it's amazing that most of my class made it out, too. I guess they'll traverse just about anything for a party.

I heard that school was cancel for you guys. Had we been in school, I know it would have been canceled as well. Since we got the same amount of snow up here. Love Phylis Dillers quote, she had it right on both points.

Hope you have enjoyed your early out/vacation.

We had this same kind of event happen in Nebraska two years ago. The last day of school cancelled due to heavy snow. Hope this melts or gets better for those holiday travelers!

Happy Holidays!

Snow days are great when you don't have to go out in it or work in it. I LOVE snow days when I can stay inside by the fire!!

I LOVE your photos!!

Looks like you got quite a bit of the white fluffy stuff.
Of course, my kids think that we got more snow than the entire state put together.
That's just because they had to shovel it :)
As for me...... I'm taking full advantage of that 'missionary mode' that they are still in, and accepting all the help that they will give me :)
Love your pictures!

Wishing you a very, very Merry Christmas!!
