Don't hate me because I'm with 2 beautiful women!
It's hard to believe I'm standing in this picture with these "blisters" (blogging sisters) of mine! (Tauna's phrase and I like it!)
Gigi, our genteel Southern Belle from Georgia, came to bitter cold Utah for her sister's funeral. Though it was a sad occasion for her, it was a delight to see her and hear her adorable southern drawl. Between Gigi's speaking and the sign language during the funeral, (her sister was deaf) I felt like I had been transported to a wonderful multi-cultural event! (Gigi probably felt the same being surrounded by Utah-ism)
The icing on the cake was being able to sit next to Tauna, our fun-loving ER nurse from Idaho! She came with her kind, handsome husband, Howard. She left her mischievous cats at home and I can't wait to hear the chaos they caused while she was gone!
If you know these ladies, you know why I was so excited to be with them, even if it was for a short time! (Next time, we'll have to sit a spell and visit!) If you haven't met them yet, you should scoot on over to their blogs. You'll be glad you did!
Blogging Rocks!!!
Isn't it fun to meet these blogging friends? I've met 2 so far and it was great. My husband and I are coming for conference in April and I plan to meet up with another blogging friend then. Not sure exactly where you are, but maybe you and I could schedule some time as well!
ReplyDeleteYay! Love both those women.
ReplyDeleteThat is so awesome...I just love them both so much! I would love to do that! ;D
ReplyDeleteLove reading your and Tauna's blogs. How nice you got to spend time with her. I don't know Gigi, but I'm sure she appreciated your support at the funeral.
ReplyDeleteConnie, YOU were the icing on the cake!!!! It was so much fun to see you. You are like a sunshiney warm blanket cuz you are so dang nice!
ReplyDeleteIt WAS such an honor to meet Gigi and attend the funeral. It was beautiful.
I loved watching those wonderful people communicate with each other.
Gigi is truly as beautiful as I always imagined.
Yes blogging is really an amazing thing. I've met the best people in the world. (one of them is you by the way)
I also saw a cousin at the funeral I hadn't seen for 10 years? Isn't the world small?
I do have a correction to your little post though. Gigi didn't come to "bitter cold Utah". HAHAHAHA. You're so funny! It was 31 degrees yesterday! That's NOT bitter.
Coming home to 1 degree.
That's bitter.
Oh, also, the cats have all been very well behaved since my last post. They really have responded to the scolding they have gotten. I've really made some breakthoughs.
Oh meet me next!!!
ReplyDeleteI'll pay ya to like me!
I'm sorry to hear about gigi's sister. (I haven't read her blog, but I have read her comments on yours) I do read tauna and really enjoy her--plus, I appreciate knowing she is there keeping an eye open for my little elder)
ReplyDeleteSo glad she and Tauna were able to spend time with you. You truly are an amazing woman.
If you really want to learn about bitter cold, travel north, I was in tears tonight because I didn't have on the right gloves as Allan and I went through the forest looking for branches for something we're doing for Heidi's reception ; )
Ahhhhhh!!!!! This is KILLING Me!
ReplyDeleteI SOOO wished I could go to this.. because it's not far away from my house.. and I'm not sure I will have many chances to meet Gigi.. but alas.. I could not. I was helping a family member De-junk and Organize! :(
I am grateful ya'll got to meet!
Tauna is simply amazing. She has driven 2 times down to Utah to support her friends... and then she makes killer hand dipped chocolates that are SINFUL.
Anyways.. hope to meet Gigi one day.. and grateful they met YOU! You are one of the nicest ladies I have EVER met! :)
Meeting "blisters" is one of the best things that I came away with at the Casual Bloggers Conference last year.
ReplyDeleteWhen you follow someone's blog, it's like you know them so well already, the conversations are easy to jump into and relationships come quickly.
So glad you got to meet up two of your favs! Love love love Tauna!
So glad you got to see them, but sorry it was at a funeral. Blogging is so great.
ReplyDeleteGood for you!! That's exciting stuff! :-)
ReplyDeleteOh, I was going to ask you if you wanted to go with me, but then I thought it would be tough to get away during the work day. Boo...
ReplyDeleteMan, you're just meeting all kinds of people, aren't you?
ReplyDeleteGlad you were able to meet a few bloggers...sorry it was not under the best of circumstances.
Wow, you are really busy socializing. Glad you got to spend some time with some great fellow bloggers.
ReplyDeleteI have met a couple of my blogging friends and they are pretty much cooler than my real friends.
ReplyDeleteCool that you got to meet up.
I'm jealous! Have always wanted to meet Gigi (she does share a birthday with C8),and hear her sweet southern drawl. And Tauna, well, she's just FUN! Love her new haircut. Glad you got to see and hug them both. Reminds me of a song... Blisters, Blisters, never were there such devoted blisters... you know the rest. :)
ReplyDeleteSeeing you standing there in the doorway, my heart skiped a beat! Oh the joy and surprise! I knew that Tauna might come but you were just a pure surprise! Loved it!!

OK I thought I commmented on this. Probably because I saw the picture on Tauna's blog too. But I love that you all were able to get together. I'm sure it made what was a sad day for Gigi a bit happier. You are all beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThat is just so neat that you got to meet both of these lovely ladies.
