Speech therapy at school is usually done one-on-one. However, there are times when we have 2 students together. The other day, because of time restraints, I went to get 4th graders, Z and Clay. We've never had them in therapy together, however they're both working on the same goals and they're both considered "underdogs". When I went to get Z, I told him that today we'll be working with Clay. He was thrilled! "I love Clay!" he said!
He followed me to the other 4th grade room where I summoned Clay to join us. The three of us walked down the hall to the speech room. Z was jumping and laughing with excitement. It made my heart soar with happiness to see that he and Clay were such good friends.
When we got to the room, I motioned for Z to sit in one chair and Clay to sit in the other. All of a sudden, Z pulled up short, looked at Clay and said, "He's Clay?" "I thought we were working with real clay, not a human Clay!" Needless to say, my soaring heart took a nose dive.
Soon, we'll be leaving this!
(the view on my way to work)
And coming here where it's over 70 degrees!
It will be a nice break!

I love that kids are so literal. Honestly, I probably would have thought the same thing. I don't know where you're going, but it looks wonderful. I would wish to go with you, but it's supposed to warm up hear by next week. Safe travels.
LOL...Clay!!! Love the sweet innocence of children.
Have fun and enjoy some of the warmth for me, will ya?
Valerie,
You win the prize. Yes, we're heading to Phoenix to see Hubby's parents. Supposed to be 73 degrees while we're there! Woo Hoo!
Hahaha. Kids are so funny. I need some sunshine and warm temps too. Lucky you. Mimi
I hope real Clay didn't have his feelings hurt!

I'm jealous! Of the visit to AZ. Not the human clay.
Okay, now that made me laugh...see how those dratted multi-meaning words can really confuse us all?
Curses.
that was pretty funny. How we sometimes think we are getting ONE thing and end up NOT.
Clay---I hope he told Z, you ain't that special yourself. (tee, hee)
I am so thrilled for you that you get to go to Arizona. My son, the one who died, used to live there and it was a great place to visit.
I am sooooo tired of this cold and winter, and gray skies, that I would settle for a sunburn!!!!!!
I love that story - Kids really are funny!
I am happy for you that you get a break from the cold. I don't know where the bottom picture is but I hope you have a wonderful time!
Have fun you crazy girl you!!!
