Some people are crazy about running. Others are just crazy! I found myself in the second category on Thanksgiving morning as Candice, Camille and I stood out in the cold at the beginning of a 5K turkey trot race in 0 degree temperature.
By the time we were finished with the race, we were semi-warmed up and sweating. Then the cold really set in!
There was a children's dash at the end of the race.
3-year-old Kels participated with a little help from Aunt Camille.
Miss Em, in the red hat, gave it her all!
Mr. Cy, lead the pack in his age group and won a $10.00 gift certificate!
Later that day, after a hot bath to warm up the old bones, we had a wonderful dinner with the family!
I have so much to be grateful for!

Whipped cream right from the can! Now that's the good stuff.
You are a brave woman doing the run. Looks like you had a wonderful Thanksgiving with the family.
Sure sounds crazy to me. :) Brrrrr! Glad you had a nice, warm end to your day, surrounded by family.
What a good lookin fam! I never realized how much Camille and Jeanette look alike!
You ARE crazy! I was just thinking all the turkey trotters would stay warm yesterday! you are one brave woman. :)
Mom, you should have noted that you beat both of your daughters in the race this time....but I doubt if you would have beaten 'ol Cyrus. Pretty awesome! Thanks for the race.
Love the turkey trot idea! You are a brave woman!
The turkey looks fabulous! Happy Thanksgiving!
Looks like quite the par-tay!
WHAT.THE.H?!?!?! We did the same Turkey Trot! - Holy Hannah!!!
Your dinner afterwards was much better than mine - that's for sure..
HOLY COW! We were doing the same damn race!!
I think I consumed around 3,942 weight watcher points thanksgiving day. Eeeeks.
I need to trot my butt all the way back home I think.
I need to run a turkey trot now that I have gained 5lbs from all the good food I just consumed.
Looks like you had an awesome Thanksgiving.
I'm crazy about running, but my knee still says no. Glad you had such a beautiful holiday full of so much to be thankful for. Aren't the holidays grand!?
You are either incredibly brave or crazy :) It was bitter cold in our part of Utah on Thanksgiving morning! I wanted to crawl in the oven with the turkey....just so that I could stay warm :)
I'm so glad that you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
I echo your sentiment.... I too have soooo much to be grateful for!
Brrr! That's definitley insanity if you ask me. Someday I'd like to try it though.
Looks like a lovely day, so glad.
I love the hand grenade advice in the post below!
Connie, you are amazing! I am so impressed that you ran that race. Good job!
I am so glad that your Thanksgiving was special too. What a beautiful family you have.
Blessings and best wishes always,
Natasha.
I can't believe you ran in that FREEZING weather. Way to go.
Glad you had a great Thanksgiving.
Hey I have whipped cream out the can picture too - It just makes Thanksgiving complete. dontcha think? ha ha
You rock for running in the freezing weather. It made me cold just looking at the picture :-D
Good job on running! My youngest son sprays the whipping cream into this hand and then eats it :)
You are one brave woman! It was cold!
Glad you got warmed up and had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
I so admire you running in the cold. Heck, I just admire you RUNNING. If I could, I would, but I can't, so I will just applaud you and stick to what I CAN do. Your family is lovely and it looks like a good time was had. I love that you educate your children early regarding the proper use of Reddi-Whip. Thumbs up.
There are no Turkey Trots here in Florin, so I don't have to feel guilty about NOT running. Although I ran to the city park (down the street) a couple days ago and felt pretty darned good about that!
Good job on finishing another race!
Happy THanksgiving!
Good job on running the race. You are awesome. I had to laugh at the hand grenade story.
Hey, I'd do ANYTHING for a ten dollar gift card.
I'm pretty sure crazy would be the word you're looking for! ;-) But crazy in a good, brave kind of way!!
