Several weeks ago I posted about my blog being hi-jacked by my 30+ year old son. (I can't remember his real age at the moment so the + sign signifies he's a little older than 30) I do remember his name. It's Dan, my 30+, highly intelligent, artistic genius son, who came from Albuquerque for a much appreciated visit to our home! When I say appreciated I mean that we were all very excited to see that tall, handsome, lad!
I was in the process of writing a post on my blog when he arrived and because of my excitement to see him and needing to attend to dinner preparations, I left my blog opened and vulnerable. While I was busily mashing potatoes, carving the roast beast and putting out a spread to beat all spreads, Dan was busily changing my recently published posts!
The next morning, while perusing through new comments, I noticed something that caught my eye. Someone had mentioned duct tape! Duct tape? I quickly went to my post and to my surprise and confusion, read about my newborn baby being wrapped completely in duct tape before bringing her home from the hospital. Duct tape was used as seat belts, soap was an ingredient in peach cobbler and I smeared peach cobbler on my face for an anti-aging cream!
Dan had added his flair to my rather boring, but honest, posts! I have since forgiven him and even offered to have him be a guest blogger. He wants to take it one step further. He suggests that blog hi-jacking or blog-napping should be the wave of the future.
Imagine for a moment, if you will, a window of time where our passwords are all the same. Perhaps for 15 minutes, once a week, the password is "Punked." In that length of time, someone can come to your blog or you could go to someone else's and switch up a post! It's similar to inviting the tooth fairy by putting a tooth under your pillow. You're not sure what that winged creature will leave. There could be nothing and the tooth owner would be disappointed. (Believe me, I know. I've seen it in the faces of many a child. Darn, that forgetful tooth fairy!) Maybe a measley quarter would take the place of the tooth. But for the lucky one, a ten-dollar-bill and a bicycle could be under the pillow! Either way, it's a surprise and would make you want to get up early in the morning and check out your own blog!
Can you see how this would work? Kristina could confiscate a blog about mothering, Wendy could add her flair to Pioneer Woman, I could totally change up a craft tutorial on Blue Cricket Design. The possibilities are endless!
If one of my future posts seem to be "off the wall" or a little out of the ordinary, never fear. It means Dan has once again tapped into my blog, or I have finally developed a personality.

I missed his orginal post, that is pretty funny. Kids, you gotta love them :)
This is perhaps the most genius idea I have ever read. I would welcome the chance to get blog punked, just as long as Ashton Kutcher didn't show up.
And we are using duct tape to rid our 8 year old of his wart. It is amazing.
Oh, I think you have plenty of personality already!! I'm pretty sure your son, doesn't fall far from the family tree!! ;-)
Blog-abducting, however does seem pretty interesting!! LOL
I agree with Tracy above...but I would just die! What a stinker he is...had to have learned that from Mom right?! LOL Come say hi :D
THAT is absolutely hysterical. I think it would be the funniest thing ever to tap into/change up someone's blog post.
that is so funny that your son did that.
and btw, I could totally smell that wonderful dinner you were laying out for the family
I am glad that crazy son of yours made it home for a visit.
and a solar cooking thingy--wow
Yes.. I think this would be GREAT fun.. but my blog would be trashed alone.. with what my funny sister would do with it.
Maybe I should have her be a guest blogger sometime. Hmmmm... :)
I can always appreciate someone willing to hi-jack a blog for amusement. And I'd love to see Kristina on a mothering blog:)
I could totally write a post about how to punish your kid without getting CPS called on you. It would be a hit!
Too funny. I love it.
Oh my gosh that is too funny! How did I miss that original post - I would surely have remembered that.
I can only imagine too well what my blog would look like if one of my kids got to "play" with it - the thought terrifies me - lol!!
So funny.
Love the solar oven. When we get home I want to have one too. Then I will have to go to your house to get some cooking lessons.:)
Make it happen! I met Becca (Blue Cricket Design) a couple nights ago. I'm sure she would mind a "bedazzld" tutorial from you! :)
Awe, the things our children do to add humor to our lives. I am still chuckling about the duck tape one, since I remember that post very well. Along with the soap one. Bet you never have a dull moment when Dan is at home.
Duct tape, that is hilarious! Dan is quite the funny guy! I wish I could of read that post!
Great, great post! Thanks for the smile!
Go Dan!
