A Change of Scenery

Friday morning Andy and I drove 11 hours to see his parents in Arizona.
After listening to a book on CD and

making these 3 dish cloths, (I have to keep busy)
we arrived  to 70+ degree weather. It felt good after all the cold, snowy, weather we've been having in Utah.

The citrus trees are loaded with fruit.

The sunsets were gorgeous.

Here's Andy and his cute parents.  Don't you love that my mother-in-law still has natural brown hair?  Yeah, me too.

On the way home we stopped to see some scenery

and buy a necklace from this cute woman who wasn't thrilled about having her picture taken.

We're back to the snow and cold.  But that's OK because we're also back to the internet!  I didn't think I could go 4 days without checking my email or your blogs, but now I know - I'm a survivor!  See you soon!

The sunset was amazing here in Utah tonight. I reveled in it just a bit.

Glad you had a good trip to warm Az. But glad to have you back.

What a fun trip! Isn't it nice to get away - even for a few days?

How could you leave the palm trees and citrus stuff and WARMTH????

I think that's why I never go anywhere, cuz I have to come back.

It looks like it was a very productive time.
I'm not sure how you survived though.
You definitely are right up there with the pioneers for sure.

His parents look so cute!

Also I think I bought a necklace from that same lady 2 years ago!

Now I feel even colder! Arizona heat is tempting, but only this time of year...

Glad you had a warm trip and that the parents are doing so well. Great picture of them and Andy.

We always get books on CD when we take long trips, we look forward to it. I think it is getting time for us to take another LONG road trip. I'd love to drive to Utah in the spring. May make that my goal. Just hope we can afford the gas :))

I love that you made 3 dishcloths on the way!! What a woman :-D
How nice to be able to get away to somewhere warm and sunny for a few days and to go with your hubby!!
His parents are so cute and I cannot believe your MIL still has her dark hair - she's got good genes :-D

So glad you had a nice, warm trip. Welcome home.

I like the dishcloths. Good to keep busy while driving too. :)

I need a AZ trip ASAP!
That lemon tree killed me.
Why can't I live in a place that grows avacado's.. oranges and lemons?

Love that you keep your hands busy and make good use of your time.. yet you stop and enjoy the scenery as well.

I have lots of family roots and historical places that I need to see down there... and yet.. I have never been farther than Page. Crazy.

Grateful you had a 70 degree getaway..

Jealous of the warm weather---but not of the 11 hour drive it took to get it:)

Connie,
If you had given me a heads up, I could have been your stow-away :)
How nice to be able to get away from the cold for a bit. I'm glad that you had a nice time.
Hopefully, you brought back some of the AZ heat with you !

wOw--you are a survivor. 4 days without internet etc. I wonder if they could make that into a reality show.

Ohhh, looking at those pictures has me longing for warm weather!! HOT

and those dishcloths are my FAVORITE. My sister crochets and I am always getting her to make me some when mine get worn out. Nothing works better then those.

and one more thing...I think I'd be AFRAID to buy "anything" from that lady.
just saying.

I can't wait to get to Vegas.
I agree with Wendy.

Don't be surprised if the local authorities show up at your door. I have a feeling that lady called the cops as soon as you left...

Love the pic of G&G! I need to plan a trip down south now! Glad you guys made it back safely

So glad you survived. :) I'd love a bit of a break from this COLD, but not so much from the internet, even though I don't have much time for it anymore.

I don't believe a place that warm exists. I think you made all this up. =)

I am needing a road trip - or any trip 'bout now to somewhere warm!

I was lucky to get a January trip to AZ too! I think I was there about a week before you. Our friends thought it was freezing, but we LOVED the warmer temps! And yes, the sunsets were AMAZING!!
