Learning the Hard Way and Waffle Brownies!!

Imagine my surprise when I opened my blog this morning and realized my last two posts had been tampered with!  I was reading about babies being wrapped in duct tape, having their head shaved, a quivering bladder and rubbing peach cobbler on my face!  I was in shock as I read, then I recognized my son's "sense of humor" in the changes.  Through a text, I asked him how he found out my password and he told me I had left my blog open when he came over for dinner and he couldn't resist!  So, I  have learned, that when I have to leave my computer, close my blog!  I have also learned that Dan can't be trusted, but, if I want to add some "spice" to my blog, I'll need to turn to Dan.  Believe me, that won't be for a looonng time!

..................................................................................

I have been making these waffle cookies for years!!  They're so good and moist and chocolatey!  You don't have to preheat an oven, just a waffle iron.  You can find this recipe on Grandma's Desserts.  Her pictures are prettier than mine but my waffle iron is a lot older!

Waffle Brownies

1 cube butter or margarine
7 tbsp. cocoa
4 slightly beaten eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 cups flour
1/2 tsp. salt
Preheat waffle iron...
In a large, microwave safe bowl, melt butter.
Add cocoa, and combine well.
Then add the slightly beaten eggs and vanilla.
Mix well.
Add the flour, sugar and salt.
Batter will be thick.
Spray waffle iron with oil, place batter on hot iron by teaspoons full, if you want small cookies, or tablespoon if you prefer larger cookies. Close lid and cook for 60 to 70 SECONDS!  That's about a minute!  Don't over cook.  Remove from waffle iron with a fork (just lift the cookie up by the edge) and place on a cooling rack.  I lightly spray the iron after each batch.

Frost when cool and enjoy!
P.S. From now on, if you see any misspellings, typos, or lies in my post, blame Dan!

I didn't get to see your embellished posts. :( Sounds like your son keeps you on your toes. I can't imagine what it was like when he was younger. He he

I've been given these cookies before and they are really good, but I've never made them. Thanks for the recipe. I've never seen them frosted. Extra goodness!

Oooo those look good. Except I have to be the only person in the world who didn't get a waffle iron when she got married. Bummer.

I was wondering about the duct tape and the shaved head...but I just went with it. How funny that your son embellished!
Those brownies look tasty! My waffle maker might never be used for it's intended purpose if I start making those...

OH my goodness... I can't believe your son did that to you... and I believed it... I thought you were being the funny witty person who usually makes me laugh... But, that is fun-NY that he did that too you... Hmmmmmm you'll have to let us know what you do to get him back... I hope it's good.

Fun waffle brownies... I like the idea of having a snack without heating the oven... Sounds like a great recipe for the summer.

I told my husband about this and he just gave a scared face and said, "Don't mess with a woman's blog!" So true.

Waffle brownies look yum!

Dan's in town? I feel bad I missed the changes! Maybe you could get him back and put the audio feed of him singing in the shower on your blog!! You remember...the one you played at his farewell! That would be a good one!

That is hilarious that your son took over your blog and wrote funny things! Sons are such a crack up!! You should let him guest post from time to time if you dare - ha ha.

I have never heard of waffle cookies in my life. How fun. My youngest son who is 9 loves to cook and I think he would enjoy these as he is a waffle freak!

I'm always really careful to log out of important things on my computer. I don't want anyone getting into any accounts I have! That being said-love the sense of humor it shows:)

I have never had a waffle cookie--what a fun idea. I guess that means they wouldn't qualify as a snack, eh?

I love that your son got on your blog--too cute.

I would love to meet your family...you are all SO funny and I always know I am going to laugh in some way when I visit your blog. I don't have that kind of fun with my parents/siblings and so I always find joy in hearing about other peoples funny family stories.

What an awesome recipe...I bet these are SO yummy.

These would be perfect to make for a treat during the summer when you don't want to heat up your house with your oven. Thanks for sharing, and I bet your "old" waffle iron makes the best waffles and cookies.

I am a firm believer that the old appliances are SO much better than the new ones. The old appliances might not be the newest colors and shapes, but they do such a better job of cooking. (that's just my opinion)
