THEY'RE ON!

I'm talking apricots!
They're about 3 weeks behind because of the cool weather we had in June, but they're getting ready!  Today I picked 2 buckets of these golden fruits.

There are still a gazillion apricots in the tree!
]

This is the view from the ladder.  It's a long way down.

Here's the view from the ground.  Jake and friend climbed to the roof to alleviate the strain on the branches.

Here's my favorite way to pick apricots.  Cut off the brances and pick 'em

without having to reach! You can see I'll get rid of them any way I can!

Believe me, with all the apricots picked and cut off, it hasn't made even a fraction of a dent!  I NEED YOUR HELP!  You know you want these.  I'll even pick 'em for you!  All you have to do is let me know and I'll either take them to your house, meet you somewhere or you can come to my house!  See how easy that is?
You can email me at Istartedout@gmail.com and we can make arrangements.

*********************************

Here's what's going on under the apricot tree!  Nothing grows in the shade of this tree except weeds!  It has been an eyesore for years and we're tired of pulling weeds so Andy has dug down about 8 inches. He has wheelbarrowed the dirt into the utility trailer and dumped it at a farm.  He handles every shovelful of dirt 3 times!  It's a lot of hard work!

This is what's waiting for him when he gets home from work today!  He and the wheelbarrow are getting quite a work out!  Just so you don't think I'm a slacker, I have helped him...a little!  You'll see the finished result in a week or so.

The old saying, "That which doesn't kill you makes you stronger", rings true in this case.  Hopefully he'll make it to his 60th birthday on Monday!
Maybe a nice apricot shake will give him strength!
Email me...please!

Connie, my Sweetheart's birthday is Monday too, July 26th. He'll be 57.
My brother is in SLC this week. I'll call him and see if they want to come get some of your Apricots. Will they make it all the way back to GA.? I'd love some. That's pretty funny you just cut the whole branch off.

Holy cow that's a lot of apricots!! I'd try to help you out, but I'm pretty sure you don't want to drive all the way to Wyoming to drop them off at my house!! ;-)

Oh boy! Love those apricots!
I think I'm going to miss all the canning this fall....boo hoo.
My favorite way to process apricots, is apricot-pineapple jam. Delicious on fried potatoes :)
Take the extras to church and tie a nice bag onto the ward members door handles ....hee hee :)

I wish I lived in Utah..............
I laughed at Camille's comment..."as long as I don't get stuck with them"
Sounds like she knows what she's talking about.

Hope Gigi got some.

So what you are saying is that apricots to you are like the famous zucchini?

Seeing that you share a birthday with your hubby, happy 60th to Andy and happy nefiestfyv to you too Connie! When you said you were working in the yard on your birthday I envisioned weeding but you’re doing the whole construction thing. No grass grows under your feet, or at least the apricot tree :-).

Don't work too hard and have a great Birthday!

Ooh-I wish I lived closer! I LOVE LOVE LOVE fresh apricots but never buy them because they are the nasty hard tasteless ones from California here. Eat one for me!! P.S. Hope you had a happy birthday!

Mmmmm.... fresh apricots. So jealous! I think my neighbors have an apricot tree that they don't do anything with. I should ask them if I can come over and steal some...
Of course, our growing schedule is slightly behind yours, so I have another week or so until they're ready.
