Wrapping It Up

Our New Years Eve tradition has always been to stay at home and play games with the kids.
We did the same thing this year and had lots of fun!
This picture of Ad and C8 shows a fairly new tradition - making "Crackers" for the grandkids.  Toilet paper rolls or wrapping paper rolls are filled with candy, trinkets, and money then wrapped in tissue paper.  The trick is to take the ends in both hands and pull them apart so all the goods spill out.  This tissue paper was more plastic and didn't conform to our wants so we just untied the ends and dumped it.

Remember Henry?  Yes, she's still here and last night she got lots

and lots

of loving from C8 and Keiti, whether she wanted it or not!

We ate delicious chimichangas (recipe will be on another post).

OK, this game is a wild and crazy game.  Usually someone ends up crying when they have to dump their bag but last night was a more mild version.  I took this picture of the booty more than half way through the game.  As you can tell it's just not candy bars we get!

The dice must have been on the other side of the circle for Jeanette to be taking a video of the action!

That look on Corban's face is suspicious!

I threw this picture in, although Izzy didn't cooperate with me and the camera, I was able to capture Jeanette giving a little sugar to Troy!  Who wouldn't want to kiss those chubby cheeks?

It's the dawn of a new year and a new decade.

Wishing all of you a blessed year and thank you for the blessings you have given me!

Sounds as if my invitation got lost in the mail :)
All our kids and GRAND's are in Ohio looking for snow and deer. We spent the most wonderful quiet evening with dinner and a movie and then I decided to put up some boneless chuck roast. I got 18 jars and think I will go back for some more meat today. Good sale at 1.99 a pound.
Happy New year and remember to keep inspiring me as you have so much this past year :)
Blessings.

Your New Years Eve looked like loads of fun! I feel asleep with Bubee on a sleeping bag watching a movie with our family, just before the New Year started.

I am with you on the fact that getting back to work on Monday is going to be a tad hard to do. I still have some prep work that I have put off. Guess I know what I will be doing with part of my Saturday.

Looks fun! How do you play the game? I like to make people cry. :) Just kidding. But I'd love to know.

Maybe I should make crackers for the missionaries--that would be fun.

You have such great traditions. Love them all. Can't wait til you post the recipe for the chimichangas.

Happy 2010.

Great New Years Eve Party. I'm thinking this is the "candy bar game?" I've never played when you have to dump your bag. I need to know about this version. I think it would be allot more fun.

Cute pictures of the kids!! Things are always funner with children.

I'm DEFINATELY going to need the recipe for those chimichangas! Are you sure there wasn't a hand slapping game too? I kinda miss that fun game of pain and screaming!

Oh, those chimis looked so good! That last picture of the tree is just perfect with the sun and snow - is it in your yard?

I agree about staying home for NYE. Growing up in CA we always had "New York New Years" at 9 pm and now in Utah and with 3 littles of my own, I like the idea of a "London New Years" better. The more sleep the better!

Happy New Year.

I thought the cat was Harry. Either name is great for a female cat!

Looks like a great evening had by all. See you soon.
