Purse Predicament - or how many times can you type purse in a post?

I've been using the same purse, day after day, for the past 3 1/2 years.

It has not only been used, but abused!  There have been a myriad of items carried in that purse, some of which were messy and left residue behind.  It isn't a purse that can be organized well.  There's one small zipper compartment in the lining and a large, cavernous, pocket that swallows keys, cell phones, check books, pens, and anything else I'm trying to find at the time.  Saturday I decided it was time for a change!

I bought this purse at Ross.

It's practical with a pocket on the outside, and 3 compartments in the middle.  It was exciting to organize all my belongings.  I know exactly where my keys and cell phone are.  The wasted time of searching is over!

Saturday I went to a fireside where Sheri Dew was speaking.  I had my new purse and set it down by my chair.  When the fireside was over, I left the chair and my purse!  I didn't go far before I realized my mistake.  I went back to the place I was sitting and there were 2 women looking through my purse.  One had my cell phone and was looking through the numbers, trying to figure out how to get hold of the proud owner of such an organized, practical purse!  I thought how embarrasing it would have been if they had gone through my old, junk filled, dirty purse to find the cell phone.  I may not have claimed it!

Are you ready for a new purse?  Would you like one that is sylish, fun, and could hold a dozen cupcakes?  Head over to Camille's blog now and enter to win this lovely purse from TaiPan.

I love it!  I'm sure I wouldn't have forgotten this purse by the chair, I would have tripped over it on the way out!

:-D I counted 13 times you used the word purse. Very clever. I think it was pure inspiration that you purchased a new organized purse before you left it behind. Now they all know how organized you are...

I am a total purse-a-holic. The other day I had cleaned out my closet and taken all 10 of mine out and lined them up on my dresser. When I asked G to get my keys he practically ran out of the room screaming. My "active" purse was sitting on the piano bench. sigh Men don't get the allure!

Cute new one for you! The blue one is so cool!

You crack me up!!
I had to gasp at the fact that you have had the same purse so long:)
I LOVE purses! I have said it before, 'I need a twelve step program for purse addicts". The funny thing is... I really don't use my purse every day:)
So glad that you were able to get your purse back!! How was the fireside?

Once again, thanks for another Monday morning smile!! I'm so happy you got a new purse so you didn't embarrass yourself!! ;-) New purses are the best, but I confess I just got a new one this Spring for the first time in many years. My girls were impressed!! It's even in style and in a FUN green color. LOVE the blue purse give-away, but I don't think my personality fits it!!

Enjoy your new purse!!

I am the same as you Connie. I keep my purses until they are falling apart and when I am forced I go to buy a new one. It is hard to find just the right purse so when I do I hate to give it up!

I think I would have been kind of freaked out if I saw a couple of women going through my purse - ha ha!

Purses are a necessary evil in my mind. I hate having to carry one around-but I absolutely MUST have a place for my keys, my phone and my wallet. Plus, what about pens? And paper to write things down, just in case? And chapstick? And an extra hair thing? See what I mean? Necessary evil.

I don't know that I would recognize you with a new purse! In order to find you in a public setting, some people look for the beautiful silver hair. I look for the brown purse. :)

We had a game the other night at homemaking. They had us in teams and we had to come up with all kinds of different items...our team won!!! (I had an apple, a nail file, wet ones, etc) But right now my purse is a MESS!!!

I try really hard to have an organized purse......but I fail.

I can have the most awesome purse in the world with organizer pockets and everything and Jeeves to put it in its proper place and I would still have a disaster purse. I keep my fridge and closets organized, but I just can't seem to be bothered with my purse.
I better never leave that thing laying behind.....

Love your new purse!

Connie I've been so neglectful and so I've been reading several of your blogs to catch up so please excuse my comments shall cover many...New purse..I think it's an age thing I use to never have a hard time finding a purse now I look and look and I also pack it around the store with me for a while to get a feel for it to know if it is right I'm always asking Cole or Alan so does it look like me...if only???? They have never answered me. But now I have so many purses and I hate them all...don't know what my next move will be but I do have to say that your new purse looks like you..and maybe I look like the one that is going to be given away...you know kind of 'fluffly'. I use to love doing teacher appreciation week at school I'm glad yours was so great!!! Was Jordan the baby that the neighbors got you and Andy and Jo-Jo a limo ride??? Memory is going... You guys all still sound like you are the funniest family ever!!! I wish mine was. Love Debbi

3.5 years is a long time! I get my purses cheap, and usually replace them twice a year. The last one needed to be replaced because of a paint accident outside Lowe's. Maybe I will make a post out of that. It happened before I had a blog. Anyway, nice that those ladies that found your purse were so responsible and honest! The blue one is lovely, you're right!

My purse is old and I've been carring it for about 2 1/2 years. Today I was driving and my phone started to ring and I reached down to get it and it wasn't where I usually put it and the Lady that was riding with me started going thru my purse to try and help me find it and I nearly died of embarrasment because my purse was so messy she couldn't even find it in all the junk! I swore to myself that tomorrow I will fix that!! Love your new purse, so sassy!

I'm seriously in need of a new purse too! Emily, however has a purse for pretty much every day of the year...a perk of working at TJ Maxx, I guess :) Sometimes I borrow hers (shh...don't tell her!)

Maybe it is our purses we should be checking instead of our back packs. Mine usually weighs a ton and makes a good weapon for that self defense training I went to.

Good job going to Ross, Mom!! That place is number 1! In fact, I found some extra cash in the kitchen and I'm heading to Ross now! Maybe I'll get a purse?

Speaking of purses, I've made 3 purses so far for family members and have several more to make including one within two weeks. I love purses that have lots of compartments and organized areas. That's the only way I can find anythibg. Good thing you came back.

Wow! A 3 1/2 year old purse! You definitely got your money's worth out of that one. I like the "what if" story about the previous purse. My own purse gets so cluttered, that I too, would be embarrassed to let anyone see inside it!

Okay...gotta go clean out my purse. Thanks for the idea!
